As the summer months kick in, thousands of kids and adults alike are looking forward to a holiday and making it as enjoyable
as possible. We have put together a few things to occupy your time while staying at Benalmedena, Costa del Sol.
For lovers of the world below the waves there are several options on the coast. One is Selwo Marina, where you can watch
dolphins and sea lions perform in regular shows. There is also a penguinarium at the marina where arctic conditions are
realistically reproduced to make these amusing creatures feel right at home. Also worth a visit is the sea life centre, an
indoor aquarium with a walk-through glass tunnel, where you can watch the sharks swim menacingly above your head.
For those who feel a little more energetic, a visit to the water park in Torremolinos would be an ideal family day out.
If you do not like the slides there is plenty of open space to enjoy the sun, keeping people of all ages occupied and
entertained. Next to the water park is the crocodile park, an open air complex, where you can get up close and personal
with tours run by the crocs' keepers.
One of the most attractive and important features for the tourist in Benalmadena is the sandy beaches. The coast has 9km
of beaches, which are extremely clean and safe, so you can spend hours each day relaxing on the beach, enjoying the sea
and trying the many water sports on offer, which can be so much fun for the family during the summer months. If you feel like
a walk the promenade is 2km long and a delightful stroll either by day or night, stretching to Torremolinos and through the
Marina, which is a main attraction of Benalmadena Costa with its bars, restaurants, shops and of course the many boats and
yachts.
One of the other attractions is Paloma Park, which not so many years ago was open farmland. This is now a wonderful park
with a lake, plenty of grassed areas, wildlife, children’s play area, a cactus garden and cafes. It's a great place for both
the young and old to spend a few hours.
Benalmadena certainly has loads to offer tourists. It's a place where it must surely be impossible to get bored; It is a
location to suit everyone's needs, wheather you want to relax on the apartment's terrace/balcony, around the pool or on the
beach. Or you can, of course, fill your time touring the surrounding area since one of the wonderful things about the
Costa del Sol is its close proximity to some of the most beautiful and interesting cities, towns, villages and even other
countries you are likey to see.
